OYO at Camp Nuhop

Camp Nuhop is nestled in the heart of the Mohican State Forest and has been proceeding outstanding overnight camp experiences for children with special challenges for over 30 years and programming for children with hearing loss on a regional basis for the past 10 years. OYO at Camp Nuhop has been created specifically for children with hearing loss. Experienced and committed staff, interpreters, communicators and volunteers encourage a barrier-free communication environment by matching each camper’s preferred style of communication. Everyone involved wins! Information is presented visually as well as aurally, as your camper interacts with up to 150 other kids and adults with hearing loss. Adult staff and volunteers serve as positive role models and mentors as they encourage campers to reach their full potential and celebrate their uniqueness in an inclusive, safe and empowering environment.
