Prevention Specialists (3-5 positions available, contract up to 4.5 hours per week)

Greenleaf Family Center is seeking three to five Prevention Specialists on a contract basis to assist in the facilitation of a new Prevention program, Celebrating Families!. Celebrating Families! is a family-based drug and alcohol prevention program for children who have parents in recovery. The program is expected to begin in January, one night per week for 16 weeks.
The contract position will be for up to 4.5 hours per week for the 16 weeks at $16.00/hour. The contract will also include mandatory program training on the evidence based curriculum Tuesday November 27, Wednesday November 28, and a half day on Thursday November 29.

General Statement of Duties:
Provide effective and professional alcohol and drug prevention education and program facilitation to community youth, adults and families designed to educate and encourage session participants to make healthy life choices.


• Ability to facilitate research based programming to community youth and families with program fidelity
• Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
• Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively, reliably and dependably, and the ability to manage available resources to carry out assigned task.
• Attend ongoing program meetings and trainings
• Maintain accurate, complete records of programs and projects (including program sign-in sheets and completed participant pre/posttest evaluations)
• Utilize electronic records system to record necessary service information for billing purposes
• Utilize database to record program attendance and demographics.
• Assist with the development of documents and reports, both programmatic and funding related
• Model professional, responsible behavior at all times
• Be knowledgeable of and adhere to all pertinent federal, state, and local laws, standards of the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, and appropriate professional ethical standards.
• To provide other support consistent with job roles assigned

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL/LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree required. LSW or Ohio Certified Prevention Specialist or actively pursuing certification.

Must attend 2 ½ day evidence based program curriculum training at Greenleaf Family Center on November 27-29, 2018.

Director of Community Services for and of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing:

Supervises and manages all of the staff, develops, recommends, and coordinates all programming for deaf, deaf/blind and hard of hearing; assists in search for funding and grant writing, Leads advocacy efforts for populations served and is proficient in understanding the ADA. Fluent in American Sign Language, evaluates interpreters for proficiency, develops key performance indicators for the program and complies with all agency accreditation requirements.

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree required in a social service or ASL program; Master’s Degree preferred
If non-degreed, a minimum of 5 years’ experience working at a high level in the deaf, deaf/blind community.
