She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business and Organizational Communications from the University of Akron and a Master’s degree in Education from the University of Phoenix. She recently served as the interim/part-time Executive Director of the ZM Family Life Service Center. She is a former Assistant Lecturer at the University Akron and former employee of the Akron Public Schools. Ginger is a member of the Akron Roundtable Board of Directors, American Red Cross Board of Directors for Summit and Portage counties, a Leadership Akron graduate, and the President of the Akron Kiwanis.

Merle spent 16 years in the Office of School Climate as the Program Manager, where the nationally recognized Bullying Program was created along with becoming the first district in the state to hire staff solely for the purpose of addressing this issue. She received a B.S. in Social Welfare from The Ohio State University, an M.S. in Community Counseling from the University of Akron, and an M.S. in School Counseling from Malone University. Merle is the Chair Member of the Education and Law Enforcement committee for Child and Family Awareness as well as a Board Member for Do the Right Thing, a collaborative effort between police, school and city government.

Prior to his present position, he served as Chair of the Department of Associate Studies and Professor of Technical Writing and Composition at the University of Akron’s Summit College. Dr. Wrice teaches Composition, Technical Writing, Diversity and The Black Experience at The University of Akron. He has also served as an adjunct graduate faculty member in the School of Library and Information Science at Kent State University. He received his Ed.D. in Higher Education Administration from The University of Akron in 1995. He also holds an M.A. in Urban Studies, an M.S. in Technical Education, an M.A. in Multicultural Education, a Master’s of Library Science and a B.A. in English.
